New Business: More Focus

Let’s talk social network focus today. You can get Gathered, LinkedIn, MySpaced, Facebooked, and you can get all a Twitter, Beboed, BuzzNetted, Flickred, Friendstered, MeetUpped and Orkutted. I’ve noticed that a number of today’s bloggers have joined every social network known to man and try to be active in each of them. Guess what? This dilutes your effectiveness.
In order to be most effective, you must select three to four networks and focus your efforts there. Now, as a marketer, I’m not saying you should not test out new networks. Because you need to know what is out there and what is working. But for your networks to work best for you, you can’t have hundreds of them and do any of them justice.
