Widgetmania is sweeping the marketing nation. Every marketer wants to own some space on your desktop and they are producing a wealth of widgets – or gadgets as some call them – in an attempt to carve out their spot.

Make no mistake, although there will be some good ones, there will be a large group of widgets gone bad. Here’s why: in their eagerness to take advantage of this opportunity, marketers won’t think through how their widget should be tethered to their brand. Every time something new comes along, this happens.
