Underestimating Apple
June 14, 2007 on 8:33 am | In Advertising | No CommentsThere’s a piece in today’s Reveries about the new Apple iPhone. In the piece we read:
“The tactile feedback of a mechanical keyboard is a pretty important aspect of human interaction,” says Ideo’s Bill Moggeridge. “If you take that away you tend to be very insecure.”
I agree that tactile is good for human interaction, but I don’t agree that it will be the downfall of this new iPhone as some pundits have suggested. Apple just gets it. They understand how to bring cool, new technology forward that is intuitive, fun and non-threatening.
And that is why they succeed. Because they get it and their products are so rare in that regard that people talk about them. Like I’m doing here without payment for product placement. However, if Steve Jobs would like to drop me a couple of bucks, I wouldn’t turn it down.
