On Web, Content Is King

I love beautiful design, but it is really not the most important factor online. In fact, it seems the uglier the site, the more traffic it gets. This is not to say that an ugly site has no design. It still requires a great deal of thought to organize a site in such a way that viewers can find what they want quickly.

However, content always has been – and will be – king on the net. See this study that indicates half of Web time is spent viewing content.
