Disposable Web Page
October 9, 2007 on 7:43 am | In Journalism, Media, Media Relations, PR, Public Relations | 1 CommentA new web 2.0 service – DisposableWebPage – is perfect for PR people. Why, you ask? Well, what if you have an organizational crisis and your company website is run by IT people who couldn’t respond quickly if you lit a fire under them? Then, you set up a disposable web page on which you can place content germane to the crisis.
Additionally, you are able to name the page. So, it doesn’t have to be named after your company. Consider the recent Topps burger recall. You might want to call the page “Hamburger Meat Recall & Safety Tips” and post a timeline of what the company has done to respond, as well as news releases, letters from the CEO, and burger safety information. You set the timer and the page goes away after a period of time ranging from 0 days to 90 days.
