It’s time to vote on the worst ads in America. The Consumerist has launched its first contest to find America’s most annoying ads. And, sadly, there are a lot from which to choose this year.

There does seem to be a theme in 2010. From Progressive’s annoying Flo to State Farm’s pocket agent, insurance companies are dominating the list.

The categories are:

America’s Absolute Worst Ad – (I’ve gotta give it to Flo)

Most Grating Performance By A Human – (Nationwide’s World’s Greatest Spokesperson is my choice)

Most Annoying Animated Spokesthing – (my vote goes to Charmin’s Bears)

Duo Or Group That Needs To Be Broken Up – (Toyota Sienna couple, hands down)

Celebrity Who Must Have Lost Money In The Housing Crash – (Troy Aikman, Hulk Hogan – Rent-A-Center)

Creepiest Commercial – (although I like these ads, Allstate’s Mr. Mayhem is really creepy)

How did you vote?

It’s a PR blog smackdown and THINKing is right in the middle of it. Here’s what PRWeek says about it,

As part of its 10th anniversary celebration, PRWeek is honoring one of the most important technological advancements in content distribution of the past 10 years: the blog. The celebration comes by way of a competition. PRWeek personnel selected 16 of their favorite blogs, and ask each of those bloggers to select another blog to nominate for this competition. You will find the logos of all 32 blogs here and a bracket of the competition here. The competition will be a single elimination tournament, voted on by you, the reader. The tournament will take place over five weeks. For the first round, we will introduce eight new blogs every Monday and Thursday. Bloggers have agreed to participate in the tournament, and were allowed to promote their participation on their blogs and elsewhere.

Our bracket is up this Wednesday, so we’ll be asking you to vote for us. We’re ready for a PR rumble. Are you?
